Hello, and welcome! I’m Stephen Garrett, the creator and Game Master (GM) behind everything you’ll find here. I’m an avid player and creator of tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs), specializing in Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition. Whether you’re a player looking for an unforgettable adventure or a fellow GM searching for new resources, you’ve come to the right place.
My adventure in the world of TTRPGs began back in the 90s. It was a time of dice bags, paper character sheets, and endless possibilities. I spent countless hours exploring and running games in a variety of systems, from the classic dungeons of AD&D and the rich lore of MERPS (Middle-earth Role Playing) to the gothic-punk streets of Vampire: The Masquerade.
Life, as it often does, led me on a different kind of quest, fatherhood. I took a break from the gaming table to focus on my family, but the call to adventure never truly faded. Now, I’m back with a renewed passion, diving headfirst into the world of D&D and channeling decades of experience into creating new stories and resources. This journey has also led me to become a creator, where I now write adventures and design both world maps and intricate battlemaps for others to enjoy.
My Game Master Philosophy
As a Game Master, my mission is simple: to make sure every player at my table has a fantastic time. I believe the best stories are the ones we build together. Here’s what you can expect from my games:
- A Narrative-Driven Experience: My style is descriptive and focused on the story. I love to weave your character’s unique backstory, personal goals, and even their flaws directly into the campaign.
- Player Agency and Spotlight: I make sure there is plenty of room for your character to shine. I provide ample opportunities for role-playing and ensure your choices have a meaningful impact on the world, even when we’re playing through a pre-written module.
- Challenging and Fun Combat: I design encounters that are not only a tactical challenge but also engaging and, most importantly, fun for everyone involved. While I may not do a hundred different voices, I focus on making every moment at the table immersive and exciting.
My players have consistently rated me highly for my creativity, inclusivity, and ability to teach the game, and I strive to bring that energy to every session.
